State of Emergency Declared in Ethiopia

A state of emergency has been declared in Ethiopia for the first time in 25 years following ongoing anti-government protests by the country’s two largest ethnic groups, which have at times turned violent.


Erdogan Declares three-month long State of Emergency

Yesterday, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced a three-month long state of emergency as a response to the failed coup attempt of July 15. Today, the President’s decision was published in the Official Gazette and went into force.
