Two lawmakers among 10 killed in hotel attack in Somalia

MOGADISHU, Somalia — The Al Qaeda-affiliated, Al Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the hotel attack, saying its fighters detonated a car, laden with explosives, at the gate of the Ambassador Hotel on Makka Al Mukarama St in Mogadishu on Wednesday at around 5:45 pm local time.

More than 700 feared dead in latest Mediterranean shipwrecks

At least 700 people have died in the Mediterranean Sea over the past week as three boats carrying migrants from several African countries capsized. All separate incidents, the three boats had left the Libyan coast and were heading toward Italy.
