Turkish Parliamentary Parties React to “Euphrates Shield” Operation

The largest opposition party in Turkey, Republican People’s Party (CHP),  publicly supported Operation “Euphrates Shield”, but called it “long overdue”. The Pro-Kurdish and Turkey’s 3rd largest party Democratic Peoples’ Party (HDP) criticized the AKP government for dragging the nation into “vortex of war“ without the consent of the parliament.

Putin and Erdogan will meet after 7 months of tensions

Two days ago, sources close to the office of Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a letter of apology to Putin for the downing of a Russian fighter jet on November 24 2015.  Today, the two presidents spoke on the phone in an attempt to renew bilateral relations.

Turkey and Israel reach a deal for normalizing relations

After Turkish and Israeli delegations met in Rome on June 26, it was announced that they had reached a deal for normalizing relations. This deal comes after 6 years of strained ties  following the Israeli attack on the Mari Marmara ship that was a part of the “Gaza Freedom Flotilla”.
