LEEDS, UK— Labour MP, Jo Cox has died in hospital after she was was shot and stabbed in Birstall, Yorkshire just outside of Leeds.
The 41-year-old mother of two was reportedly shot three times and stabbed multiple times in the street.
A man has been arrested in connection with the attack say West Yorkshire police, “Armed officers attended and a 52-year-old man was arrested in the area. There are no further details at present.”
Reports have suggested that Ms Cox’s attacker had shouted his support for far-right political party, Britain First during the attack.

The incident comes exactly a week before the UK’s historic European Union Referendum.
Campaigning for the EU Referendum has ceased for the day as a sign of respect.
Jo Cox was elected as Member of Parliament for Batley and Spen, West Yorkshire in 2015.
